Meanwhile I’m enjoying Montreal a lot, except for the cold weather. The only time I really felt warm was when I wore 3 layers under my jacket tonight. And it’s not even mid November yet… sacre bleu…

I’ve been spending a lot of time cycling everywhere.  The bike I’m riding is meant for legs of a 6’6″ friend, but I am managing, just barely.  Today’s 10km ride felt a lot better than the 25km ride yesterday (to-and-from Lionel-Groulx to the opening of the Saint Lawrence river!)

Yesterday I attended the MBA Information Session at Concordia. I had always been curious and wanted to hear what they had to say about the program. I think if I were to do an MBA program, I would definitely consider it there. I like the flexibility of their schedule, and that is really their major selling point to everyone: “Shape the degree for you. The program is what you make of it.” I much prefer that over spending an entire year with the same people, where it’s the same cohort so that you start together, and graduate together. I like the idea of expanding my network, which really is the idea of an MBA.

Anyway, another aspect of my own “career development” I might consider at some point in my future. (Or not at all, who knows at this point)

Tomorrow holds bagels, schwartz’ smoked meat, and shopping shopping shopping! Can’t WAIT!!!

And indeed it was.

I can’t remember the last time I had Szechuan. We ordered Spicy Eggplant, Ma Po Tofu (Szechuan style is 10000x spicier than Canton-style of course!), and Lamb Casserole Hot Pot. (I’m listing the dishes, in the order of spicyness — hot, hotter and hottest!) Unfortunately they didn’t have Beer, because that would have REALLY hit the spot. I drank A LOT (and I mean A LOT) of water instead.

Side Note: I still haven’t had a drink since October 17th. Will I manage to reach 30 whole days of sobriety? I sure hope not!

Tomorrow’s visit to Marche Jean-Talon shall bring some back some memories from 2 years ago, although I did have to read my own blog post from 2 years ago to realize I’ve already been.

I can relate to it on so many levels, like asian clubs, little asian girls, etc. etc. I only wish I had my own “way to be Captain Obvious” comebacks when people tell me “Wow! You’re TALL!”

Anyway, I thought it was an amusing read.
And yes, I’ve heard all these comments since I stopped growing by the age of 13.

Played too much ultimate today, but I wanted to make the most of my first official day OFF work! I’m on a team playing Winter Hat on Sunday mornings, then I played 2 games of Indoor Ultimate — subbing for 1 game, and then playing for my own team. Very tired, to say the least. I also lost both games of indoor. My own record is something like 1-8. (e.g. I’ve only been on a winning team once when I’ve played.) Wow, very fail.

Been thinking more about Summer plans and I’m getting more and more excited. I’ll miss playing ulti with my friends here, but I could be playing ulti with new friends overseas, right?! — spoken like a true ulti whore. I’m also unfit to play full field ultimate now. 7 v 7? I’ve been spoiled playing turf and indoor. I need to get my legs back into the game, and stay injury free… Of course I’m saying this as I’m icing my injured heel via plantar fascitis. Sigh.

Except where’s the snow?

It has been 6 months since I ran my half-marathon. Where does the time go? I’ve stopped training since then and concentrated on playing ultimate. As a result, I have plantar fascitis from putting weight on the same heel, which means I can’t run anymore either. I think it helped that I used to bike (bicycle) everywhere since that would stretch the calves. Time to put on the turkey weight?!

Can’t believe the Olympic countdown is down to 60′ish something days. Working lots, and hopefully will get those Preliminary Men’s hockey tickets (SWE vs FIN) I put my name in the work lottery for! Hopefully getting to do some boarding too!

And nope, not yet started on Christmas presents!

Of the 21km race, my first 14km had a great pace of 2h15, but that was probably too good to be true. After the last 7km, my final time ended up being 2h32. A bit slower than what I wanted, but I shall strive to do better next time! And learn to pace better! With actual training! (Ultimate is only good for the first 11km of the race)

But now I can finally concentrate on ulti.

Ooooh… vacation in 4 weeks too. How I’ve missed YVR!

Flowerbowl this weekend! EEEP!!! But we have a roster of 25 players for Saturday. Little playing time AND quick losses? Great…
